We did this north to south. So-so hike. Mostly a walk in the woods. Long shuttle ~ 14 miles, but all paved and fast. Nice viewpoint just east of Old Baldy. Old Baldy top has leaky views of Shasta and McLoughlin but not worth the trip up because of the trees. Vulture Rock is a scramble to the top for 360 views but a 20 yard bushwhack at the base through Manzanita. Lots of huckleberry plants on the section of the trail between DIM and Old Baldy along with mosquitoes.

One possibility would be to do this hike from the Keno Access Road TH as an up and back to the viewpoint. Saves the shuttle and you get the best that the hike has to offer.
